Who am I?

Hi Friends

Having worked as a design engineer for many years i eventually decided I had to learn something about computing. So in1985 I bought an Amstrad PCW8256. I so enjoyed using this machine that I went on to buy many of the PCW range, mostly at auction. At one time I was operating a mail order business of spares for them. I also did repairs.

I still have a website dedicated to these machines  but I don’t maintain it any more. I just leave it up for the benefit of the many 8-bit enthusiasts . The original of this website, with frames, was built about 1998 the hard way by hand coding. Since then I upgraded it periodically using Dreamweaver until a couple of years ago.

Then I ran the gauntlet of all versions of Microsoft  operating systems;
MSDos, Windows 3.Windows 98, Windows ME and now Windows XP. I’m still suspicious of Vista, but I expect I’ll have to go there sooner or later.

I don’t like Microsoft’s attitude on the use of Windows XP and Vista. Their restrictions only affect bonefide users, not crooks and hackers. I’d love to try Linux, but don’t have time to learn new tricks.

I love building websites as I like to build things from scratch that i can be proud of. My training as a design engineer I guess. I sell a range of software marketed by AX Gold plus other software and ebooks that I hand pick value and usefulness.
